POPULAR UK PR AND EVENT PLANNER, LIZ YEMOJA GLAM LASHES SPEAKS ON HER NEXT MOVIE

What is liz yemoja all about?

Liz Yemoja is young lady, works hard, but also plays hard. I'm a tv

presenter in the UK. I co-present The magazine show on Ben Television. I have also recently

launched my own 100% human hair eyelashes extension range

What other things do you do in the U.k?

I've been heavily involved in event project mangement. From 2009 i worked with Cokobar.com and also Mann Ent and helped to project manage both of the Mohits Kokoconcerts held in the UK, in 2009 and in 2011, aswell as other shows in between..

When did you set up the outfit?

Liz Yemoja Glam lashes was set up at the end of 2011, but the company has only started

'proper' for want of a better word in 2012.

What are your dealings in?

We stock 100% human hair strip lashes. The lashes are light, soft and very natural looking.

They are available in various lenghts, and styles. They are available

in London, Lagos, and we hope to get it further afield soon.

www.lizyemoja.com for details on how to get your hands on a pair.

What challenges are you facing on your biz?

The business is still very new, I guess some of the first challenges when i initially got started was sourcing the best suppliers and communicating exactly how i wanted the product to look and feel like from the packaging to the acutaly product itself, it was hard work, but we got there. Quality is very important to me, i would never want to put my name on a substandard product. So far the lashes have been embraced by many. Nollywood Superstar Omotola Jalade Ekeinde recently wore them as she hosted a launch party in UK. I feel very blessed with the support and response I've had for many in the industy and also the general public. Grateful to everyone, and mostly to God.

What are your success secret?

My father almighty! GOD. God has been and will always be my secret weapon. Who God has blessed, no man can curse. He has also blessed me with a wonderful and supportive family. My mother has been a rock continually supportive and loving.

Who inspired your setting up of the business?

I'm into beauty to be honest, i love looking good, and i believe looking good is good

business.

What areas are you diversifying into?

I hope to expand the lashes business in due course, but of course i know i have to crawl, walk, before i think of running. But with God all things are possible. I hope eventually to get into make-up. For example a woman's eyebrows are so important in framing her face. As women we need to constantly be grooming ourselves so we can look on point!

What are your expansion plans?

Still taking it one day at a time, but as we grow i will be sure to keep Society people up to date.

What is style to you?

I think style is effortless. Its grace, the way you carry yourself has more of an impact than the labels you're wearing. Style cannot be borrowed or forged; you've either got it or you dont.

What informs what you wear?

Depends on the occasion. Im not someone who dresses too fussy, you wont catch me in the most flamboyant frocks unless the occasion really calls for it. I like to keep it classy, but also comfortable. I wear what im comfortable in.

Where do you shop for your fashion items?

Various places , the trick is to mix and match. I'll quiet easily wear Reiss, primark and fendi all in one - Nothing spoil :)

What fashion item can you not do without?

Hmmmmm, Im really into shoes. Nice shoes are important no matter how great the dress is.

What sport do you do?

Hmmmmm, im not all that sporty these days o, but in the past i played

hockey, netball and

lacrosse at school. I also went to a riding school primary boarding

school in the UK, so I used to go horse riding alot, infact I should start again, its great exercise.

Where is your origin?

I am Yoruba, my father is from Ondo, Omo Owo ni mi.

Which is your most expensive fashion item?

hmmmm, i got this expensive dress from Temperly London once, ( I wont say the price)

it cost alot of money, but i felt like a princess in it. Lol. I'd worked hard, so i felt i earnt it .

What keeps you beautiful as ever?

Sleep, i sleep quite early, i cant do without sleep, i try to get a good nights rest as i feel it makes a real big difference to mood, and general outlook. I also have a good routine with my makeup, I dont sleep with makeup on. I cleanse, tone, moistorise morning and night unfailingly. What i dont do enough of is drinking water though. I should drink more water, everyone says its the key!

Your favourite holiday destination?

Italy. I went on a holiday to northern Italy a few years back, a place called Bardolino - Lake

Garda. I fell in love with it and would really love to go back.

Role model?

My mummy first and formost, she is such a strong woman, i'm forever inspired by her. I also

look up to the likes of Oprah, Funmi Iyanda, Tyra Banks and how they

managed to carve out niches for themselves despite all odds. They are inspirations also.
