Ajiran Elite Troupe Foundation Debunks Civil Society Claims Over Arrest of Ahmed Akanbi in Akinloye, Agboworin Murder Case

Our attention has been drawn to a media publication dated 18 April 2026, in which a civil society organisation (CSO) made allegations against certain individuals and the Nigerian Police for carrying out their lawful duties in relation to multiple murder cases of Prince Ademola Akinloye and Sheriff Salami Agboworin that occurred in 2023 and 2024 within the Eti-Osa area of Lagos State. In the said publication, the name of Alhaji Hammed Tajudeen Akanbi was mentioned as a sponsor of these heinous crimes.

Let us set the record straight, the matter at hand has no connection whatsoever to land disputes or kingship issues. This is purely a case of multiple murders and must be treated with the utmost seriousness it deserves.

Firstly, regarding the role of a CSO,A civil society organisation is a non-governmental, non-profit body that operates independently of the state and represents the interests and values of citizens. Its core responsibilities include:

1. Advocacy and Representation:

CSOs are expected to represent communities, particularly marginalized and underrepresented groups. Prince Ademola Akinloye was murdered in broad daylight on Chevron Road, leaving behind his father, wife, and two children. Similarly, Sheriff Salami Agboworin was also murdered in broad daylight, leaving behind a wife and two children with no visible support system. In this situation, it is important to ask: who truly requires the support of a civil society organisation? Rather than supporting efforts to bring the perpetrators of these gruesome crimes to justice, your organisation appears to be diverting the narrative by suggesting land disputes and even referencing kingship issues, despite the existence of a duly recognized and reigning king in Ajiranland.

1. Accountability and Watchdog Role:

Your responsibility should be to ensure accountability by monitoring actions that may obstruct justice. Any attempt by any individual to suppress the truth or evade justice should be of concern. The plight of the victims, including the widows and children left behind, should not be overshadowed by what appears to be a misleading narrative.

1. Public Awareness and Education:

While every individual has rights, it is equally important to recognize the rights of the victims and their families. The widows and fatherless children also deserve justice and support. A CSO should promote balanced awareness, ensuring that the truth is presented to the public without bias or distortion.

Secondly, regarding legal developments:
An ex parte order was filed on 30th day of March, 2026 and duly issued on the 10th day of April, 2026 by the Federal High Court under Suit No. FHC/L/MISC/402/2026. This includes a warrant of arrest against Alhaji Hammed Tajudeen Akanbi to secure his appearance for investigation and possible prosecution in connection with allegations of conspiracy and murder. This lawful order also enables relevant international agencies, including INTERPOL, to carry out their duties where necessary, including at border points such as the Benin Republic (Cotonou). The Federal High Court is not a hidden palace by any stretch of imagination. In fact, reliable information show that Alhaji Hammed Tajudeen Akanbi’s lawyers are now very aware of the process.

Conclusion:

While the civil society organisations play an essential role in promoting accountability and protecting rights, the assertions contained in the publication are, in several respects, misleading, speculative, and lacking in substantiation.

Hence, it should be noted that no attempt by any individual or group to intimidate or undermine anyone. Rather, the general public is keenly observing and expects the Nigerian Police to carry out a thorough and impartial investigation, with a view to uncovering the truth and ensuring that justice is served in these tragic cases. Perhaps, this may even be the opportunity Alhaji Hammed Tajudeen Akanbi requires to clear his name from the weighty allegations and evidence against him.

Justice for one is a justice for all, Let’s allow the police to do their job and stop your embarrassing 24 hours ultimatum to the Nigeria police while your client has questions to answer.

Signed:

Adesanya Yusuf secretary of Ajiran Elite Troupe Foundation
