LAGOS ISLAND STANDS STILL AS OBA IDOWU ONIRU CELEBRATES 75TH BIRTHDAY

Last week Saturday the 8th of September the first class king in Lagos Oba Abiodun Idowu Oniru celebrated his 75th birthday and 18 years coronation amidst pomp and pageantry. The celebration held at the Palace of the King in Oniru/ Victoria Island, Lagos had the who is who in Nigeria, Lagos in particular in attendance. At the event Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN) was honored with the award of Good performance in Lagos and true son of the soul. In his response through a delivered speech Governor Fashola thanked the King for the support he’s been giving his government and the award of recognition given to him.He also added that he had informed the honorable commissioner for waterfront and tourism Segun Oniru earlier that if the King offers him a chieftaincy title he won’t accept because he’s tired of the chieftaincy titles. The entire roads leading to Oniru and Victoria Island was blocked with exotics cars parked everywhere. Top diginitries at the event include the likes of Governor Raji Fashola, Deputy Governor of Lagos, King Ooni of Ife (Oba Okunade Sijuade), Oba of Lagos (Rilwan Akinolu), Dr Aliko Dangote, Oba Saheed Ademola Elegushi, Chief Olamilekan Dosunmu (Oba Dosunmu), Rafiu Akanni Olohunwa and wife (Laide), Yusuf Ashafa, Seyi Ogunde, Muiz Banire, Commissioner for environment (Honourable Tunji Bello), Honourable Funmi Tejuosho,all Eti-Osa Local Government Chairman, the children and grand children of Oba Oniru among others dignities. while the King of Fuji, K1 wass on the band stand doing what he knows best.
