MAKUN OMI OBASHIP DISPUTE RESOLVED

The seven-year dispute over the stool of Osobia of Makun Omi has now been amicably resolved.

This followed the formal withdrawal from the High Court of Ogun State (Abigi Judicial Division), of the suit filed by some indigenes of the community against the ascendancy to the throne by Oba Kazeem Adeshina Salami.

In a court paper dated 17th March 2026, Hon. Justice  O. H. Ojajinmi, stated that “the case, haven been withdrawn on the instruction of the claimants, is hereby struck out.”

A peace committee, convened by a respected indigene, Mrs. Dupe Okesanjo, had engaged all stakeholders in reconciliatory talks to reach an amicable resolution to the obaship squabble.

Reacting to the withdrawal of the suit from the court, Mrs. Okesanjo said that the development has heralded a new era in Makun and would foster unity as well as accelerate development in the town.

She declared that the resolution was mutual with no victor and no vanquished.

In her words, “Makun Omi has now bounced back as one big, united  family poised to take the ancient community to greater heights.”
