The city of Lagos is set to come alive once again as FUJI: A OPERA, Nigeria’s pioneering Fuji music platform, celebrates its 5th anniversary with a special edition of its annual concert, Fuji Vibrations 2025, themed “THIS IS FUJI.” The event will hold on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at Muri Okunola Park, Lagos.
Since its debut in 2020 as a multi-dimensional exhibition at Alliance Française de Lagos, FUJI: A Opera has grown into a dynamic cultural movement that bridges generations through Fuji music. What began as an experimental showcase has evolved into an annual open-air festival celebrating indigenous sound, artistry, and heritage.
Speaking on the upcoming edition, Bobo Omotayo, Creator and Founder of FUJI: A Opera, described this year’s theme as a declaration of pride and identity for the genre.
> “Fuji is no longer on the sidelines. Today, it is the pulse behind the sound of modern Nigeria. With ‘THIS IS FUJI,’ we are celebrating a genre, a culture, and a legacy that continues to inspire global sound,” he said.
Last year’s edition drew over 7,000 fans, transforming Muri Okunola Park into a vibrant festival of music, fashion, and colour. Organizers say the 2025 celebration will be even more immersive, featuring live performances, fashion showcases, art exhibitions, and cultural displays — all paying homage to the enduring rhythm and spirit of Fuji.
A key part of FUJI: A Opera’s success is its partnership with the Fuji Musicians Association of Nigeria (FUMAN), led by Alhaji Sikiru Agboola (Kolotiti). The collaboration, established at the inception of the project, continues to unite Fuji legends and emerging stars while preserving the genre’s rich legacy.
According to Tosin Ashafa, Executive Producer of FUJI: A Opera,
> “Our partnership with FUMAN is proof that Fuji’s strength lies in togetherness. From day one, FUMAN has stood beside us, ensuring that the heartbeat of Fuji remains strong.”
For the first time in its history, FUJI: A Opera will also host an official Afterparty, powered by More Branches, one of Nigeria’s leading youth culture communities. The Afterparty will feature a Fuji–EDM fusion rave, blending traditional percussion with contemporary electronic beats in an energetic cross-genre experience.
This year’s edition will present an all-star lineup of Fuji legends and rising talents, alongside collaborations with DJs, designers, and visual artists redefining Nigeria’s creative landscape.
Mogaji Olanrewaju Muhammed, publisher of Islanders Magazine, has been appointed as the official Press Liaison for the 5th anniversary edition. All media and press inquiries should be directed to press@fujiopera.com or 08087251228.
Attendance is free, but registration is required via Tix.Africa.
As FUJI: A Opera celebrates five years of innovation and impact, Fuji Vibrations 2025 promises more than a concert — it is set to be a powerful celebration of Fuji’s evolution, unity, and enduring influence in Nigeria’s music history.
