Lagos APC LG Primaries: Another daylight robbery in Eti-Osa East LCDA Ward A

‎Angry reactions have greeted the just concluded chairmanship and councillorship primaries of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Lagos State, as aggrieved aspirants and groups kicked against the alleged imposition of candidates by some party leaders.

‎The aggrieved party members and leaders faulted those using the influence of their office to change the will of the people to impose their candidates.

Recall that ‎In Eti-Osa LGA, aggrieved delegates have gone to the media to register their displeasure at the upturn of their mandates at the primaries held in ACME last Saturday.

‎Some of the delegates who spoke with our media outfit alleged that the party executives were not sincere with the conduct of the primaries. They alleged that the outcome was manipulated and did not reflect the actual votes cast by accredited delegates.

‎According to the agent of Mr. Wasiu Akinsemoyin, 15 out of the 22 accredited delegates at the primary election voted for Wasiu Akinsemoyin. However, to the shock of his supporters, not a single vote was officially recorded in his name in the final result announced by the committee.

‎“Our people came out, voted in broad daylight, and the process was transparent at the grassroots level,” the agent told Islanders TV. “But what we saw after was a complete reversal votes meant for Wasiu Akinsemoyin were transferred to someone no one even knows. This is not just irregular; it’s criminal.”

‎In another development at the councillorship primary election held in Ward A - Ajah, Eti-Osa East Local Council Development Area, one Hon. Akindele was announced as the winner as against Hon. Dauda Odunlami who won at the primaries in an open contest.

‎An eyewitness at the primaries who spoke with our correspondent said that Akindele candidacy has emerged through the kangaroo process of imposition, which negates the well-known norms of electing a candidate of the party, which is either through consensus or party primary.
