LAGOS STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY COMMENCE SCREENING OF COMMISSIONERS

Lagos State House of Assembly under the leadership of Honourable Speaker,Mudashiru Obasa will commence the screening of the nominees listed as commissioners today. The list was submitted to the House of Assembly last week for clarification and the law makers are set to screen today to enable eligible candidates commence work as commissioners and Special Advisers to work with the governor towards the development of the State.
While the screening exercise continues tomorrow and one of the Island big boy,Anu Elegushi will be among those that would be screened tomorrow. Meanwhile,unconfirmed report via a source in the Lagos State House of Assembly hint us that Dr. Olufemi Onanuga's name has been dropped from the list based on the allegation of fraud while he was a member of Ikoyi club which he failed to clarify while in office.
It was gathered that even after Ikoyi Club alerted Governor Ambode to the fact that Onanuga was recently expelled from the club for corruption.
A report by the club's trustees ad hoc disciplinary committee following investigation of Onanuga's tenure as one of the club's executives reveals that he was expelled for financial misconduct.
The reports states: "When Dr Onanuga was confronted with all issues raised in the Terms of Reference, his only defence was a copy of approval from the minutes of a General Committee meeting, which allowed him as an EMERGENCY measure, for the purchase of first set of furniture.
