Kola Kuddus - Clothier Extraordinaire

The Nigerian Fashion industry is fast becoming a positive force to reckon with considering the rate at which people now adorn in Nigerian made outfits, finance, ,skills and time invested into the sector.  In addition the Nigerian Fashion industry through its achievements has gained international recognition with a roll call of some Nigerian designers participating in notable global Fashion events.

Talking about young Nigerian Fashion designers who have distinguished themselves in the industry, Kola kuddus comes to mind as he’s one man that has proven to be exceptional over the years with his excellent and exquisite packaging.

 

His journey into Fashion couture began 7years ago as a hobby while in the university making clothes for family and friends; he used to shop for people as well. However this endeared him more to the fashion industry, armed with a degree in philosophy from the University of Lagos he attended Nobel Afrique fashion academy to acquire skills in dress making which was an added value. Later on he travelled to London and studied a few short courses in London College of Fashion. Kola also went to central st martins for personal styling and rounded off his trip with a short course in sales management at City University.

He returned home in February, 2008 to establish his brand, Kola Kuddus Couture incorporated. The outfit is into Urban African clothing with a blend of western style his wears include Ties, Arabian Kaftans, blazers, shoes, Shirts, traditional outfits and Slippers. He’s currently working on a Retail Expansion and has five stores selling his wears in Ikoyi, Surulere, Omole Phase 1 and 2, Ikeja. With 200 stores as outlets in USA and UK his works are trending globally as well.
