Pension Fund Operators have been challenged to ensure proper management of Local Government Staff Fund such that it will produce increase in interest on the long run.
The statement was made by Hon. (Prince) Olanrewaju Anofiu Elegushi, Executive Chairman Eti-Osa Local Government at the Council’s Year 2012 mid-year workers’ forum recently.
He observed that the staff contributions were not appropriately computed thereby bringing about discrepancies in individual accounts.
The Council helmsman pointed the attention of the pension fund operators to the fact that civil servants and particularly Local Government workers’ livelihood depends on this fund after leaving service therefore, they should be above board in their operations and management of the fund.
The Chairman, while rebuking the staff for late coming and punctuality to work, appealed to them to imbibe good virtues and be of good behavior at all times.
Olanrewaju Elegushi who scored the present NULGE (EXCO) performance well above average, urged them to always be far in their dealings among staff across board.
He equally said that the salary advance facility for staff will be sustained while provision will be made in the year 2013 budget for the procurement of a befitting staff bus.
The forum which deliberated on many topical issues as it affects the day to day running of the council was graciously attended by the Local Government Executive Council members, Legislative members, Members of the management as well as NULGE EXCO of other Sister Local Governments.
